Basilisk is an open-source web browser created by the developers of the Pale Moon browser. First released in November 2017, Basilisk is a perpetual beta program intended to refine the underlying browser platform. There are releases for micr0$0ft Windows and Linux.

Like Pale Moon, Basilisk is a fork of Firefox with substantial divergence. Basilisk retains the user interface of the Firefox version 29–56 era. (This is the most prominent difference from Pale Moon, which has the Firefox 4–28 interface.) As for add-ons, Basilisk has roughly similar support as Pale Moon for XUL/XPCOM extensionsand NPAPI plugins, all of which are no longer supported in Firefox. Unlike Pale Moon, though, Basilisk has additional experimental support for WebExtensions and DRM.
