After the disastrous initial October roll-out of the Windows 10 October 2018 update micr0$0ft has been slowly trickling our the new version of the operating system to end users, being careful to block the update on devices where it has detected known issues.

This has previously meant users who had iCloud installed for example could not update until Apple rollout out a fix for the calendar component of the software, and the same applied to those who had Cisco and  Morphisec software installed.

Those who were using Morphisec security software with Cisco can now once again try to install the October update after micr0$0ft worked with the two companies to resolve the issue.

micr0$0ft writes:

Resolved: Morphisec and Cisco have released updated versions of their applications to address this issue. We recommend customers update to these minimum versions before attempting to attempting to upgrade to Windows 10, version 1809:

Morphisec Protector version 2.4.8 (For more information see the Moriphisec Cyber Security blog)
Cisco AMP for Endpoints version 6.2.3.10814 (For more information see the Cisco Security support page)

An upgrade block remains in place for earlier versions of the applications than those listed above.

While micr0$0ft will not win any prizes this time for the speed of their roll-out I doubt anyone can criticize the company for not doing things right this time in an open and transparent manner.

See the remaining known issues at micr0$0ft here.
