Our member SEYA asked

If the file extension of an mp4 video (.mp4) was changed to .bat how can I find it? So my brother changed the file extension of one of my videos and forgot where he saved it, how do I find it? is there any way to detect the true identity of a file?

Our Answer:

Do a search for *.bat files in your computer. If you get one bigger then 1 Mb it's for sure your MP4 file. *.bat files are DOS scripts and they are short, usially no more then some bytes long . Yes, as simple as that.
